For nearly 30 years, Catherine has worked in and with government as a consultant, adviser and government relations specialist in health, industry, research and development and social services.
Catherine was an adviser in the Howard Government in the industry, science and resources portfolio, a wide-ranging portfolio where she was responsible for policy development in a variety of industry sectors.
Since returning to the private sector, Catherine has been Head of Government Affairs & Policy for GlaxoSmithKline Australia working on product and reimbursement issues. She has also had extensive policy and regional experience with GSK in the UK and Europe in relation to health policy & networks, research and development, investment decisions, education and other corporate matters.
On returning to Australia, Catherine was General Manager, Government and Public Affairs at Medibank from 2009 to 2012, with responsibility for relation to regulatory affairs, policy, government relations and public affairs.
Catherine’s principal focus is on the health and social services sectors, especially on ensuring that services are developed and delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner and can be equitably accessed by those people who need them.
Catherine is a board member of Rural Workforce Agency Victoria and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a past board member of Marriott Support Services, Melbourne City Mission and Victoria Legal Aid. She holds Bachelors’ degrees in economics and theology.
